Bob Stone Memorial Shield

Bob Stone was a very active member of the village and served on the Revel Committee for many years. His untimely death in 2005 was a blow to all of Pucklechurch. To recognise both Bob's and others’ contribution to Revel, the 2005/2006 Committee established an annual Bob Stone Award for the individual or organisation that makes the biggest contribution to Revel. A permanent shield, displayed in St Thomas à Becket church, will honour each year's winners.

Who should receive the shield?

The Bob Stone Memorial Shield is to be awarded each year for the most outstanding contribution to Revel. The award can be given to an individual, a group, an organisation or to a business.

Examples of factors that make up the Revel contribution(s) on which judging will take place will include (but not be limited to) the following:

  • Organising and running activities that raise awareness and increase participation from the community for Revel
  • Innovative and/or unique contributions leading to a recognised improvement in Revel
  • Amount of time and effort expended to create a specific result that supports the objectives of Revel
  • Amount of funds raised for Revel causes
  • The Revel Committee as a whole is excluded from the award, but individual members of the Revel Committee may be nominated.
