PROPOSED CHANGES TO BUS SERVICES 4, 5, 6 & 7 ~
Bristol City Council is faced with the need to identify savings in its budget for local bus services. An analysis of bus service costs, usage and the availability of alternative services has been undertaken. This suggests that the Monday to Saturday evening, and Sunday and Public Holiday (all day) journeys, on services 4 (Downend and Longwell Green / Centre), 5  (Staple Hill / Centre), 6 (Kingswood / Centre) and 7 (Staple Hill / Centre) could be reduced in frequency or withdrawn whilst minimising hardship to existing users. Download more information here (PDF).  Send comments with the title “Consultation” to publictransport@bristol.gov.uk

Illegal Metal Detecting:
It has been bought to our attention that illegal metal-detecting has been taking place on agricultural land in and around our area. Metal-detecting is in itself not an illegal activity but so-called "night-hawkers" who operate without the landowner's permission and remove finds (usually under the cover of darkness), are essentially trespassing and stealing artefacts from their rightful owners. These people are also thought to be targeting Scheduled Ancient Monuments of which there are several in our area. If anyone sees anything suspicious they should report it to the local police in the first instance rather than approach the people involved.

Help yourself and help the NSPCC: The local NSPCC and Fleur de Lys have teamed up to offer a parcel receiving service. Have your packages delivered to The Fleur de Lys and avoid the trip to Avonmouth or Patchway! Full details here...
