The Pucklechurch Revel likely has ancient origins. The Calendar of Charter Rolls in AD1284 records the grant of an annual fair and market to the Bishop of Bath and Wells. While there are ample records supporting Revel activities in the 19th century, it appears that the Revel tradition fell out of favour during the early part of the last century and was revived again in 1951. Today the Pucklechurch Revel is a week-long series of events organised to encourage community spirit and raise money for local organisations.
