Pucklechurch In The Time Of COVID-19

Pucklechurch Food Bank

The Pucklechurch and Shortwood Good Neighbours Scheme are working with a local COVID-19 Food Bank to set up a food bank for the village during this difficult time. It will run from the Pucklechurch Community Centre on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10am and 12pm.

We will welcome donations every Tuesday and Thursday mornings between 10 and 12. Especially welcome are donations of tinned prepared foods (such as stew, bolognese sauce, chili, pie, etc.), pasta, cream-based soups (they are good to mix with pasta to make a meal), tinned meat and fish, tinned vegetables and fruit, potatoes (fresh, tinned, or instant mash), sugar, and instant coffee.

A big thank you to all of you who have already made donations. They were gratefully received.

If you know of anyone who would benefit from a food parcel, please let us know. We have food and toiletry items ready to be delivered to anyone who may need them. If you need recipe ideas to make  a decent meal from cupboard items, click here.

Walking For Your Daily Exercise...

Many of us on ‘lockdown’ during the COVID-19 pandemic are taking to the local footpaths for our daily exercise.  This amazing resource gives ready access to the local countryside with it’s farmland and wooded areas set amongst the rolling hills of South Gloucestershire.

Click here for details of a number of walks of 1 to 2 hours starting from, and returning to, the Village Hall.
