Community Cider Project

A big thank you to all those who donated apples and to the volunteers that picked and pressed the fruit.

We have approximately 900 litres of juice fermenting away and it will be ready for the Pucklechurch revel Beer Festival in June.

Don’t Waste your Apples

The community cider project wants to use your unwanted apples to make Pucklechurch “Pixie Press”, our very own village cider.  The cider will be available at the Revel beer and cider festivals and other community events.  All profits will go to Revel funds in aid of village organisations and groups.

How to donate apples: We will collect from you or you can drop them off at the Village Hall car park (see details in the box below).

VARIETIES OF APPLES

Cider can be made from any apples but we will need to have the right balance of sweet and bitter juice to produce a reasonable cider.  Of course, cider apples are best but there are not many tress in the area.  We will need a good balance of cooking and eating apples.   To help us please keep different varieties separate.  As a minimum please let us know if your apples are eating or cooking apples.  But if you know the variety (bramley, cox, gala, etc.) that would be even more helpful.
