Conservation Area

Conservation areas are places which are desirable to preserve as a result of special architectural or historic interest.  Pucklechurch was designated as a conservation area on 30th July 1975.

Within a conservation area the local authority has extra controls over:

  • demolition
  • minor developments
  • the protection of trees

The Pucklechurch Conservation Area is currently under review.  Public consultation was conducted in October 2009 and an updated Conservation Area Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) is expected in the first half of 2010.
