Letters to the Editor
Dear Editor,
Having read Mary Whittock's letter concerning hedges and footpaths in the last issue, I would like to comment on what seems to be an assumption: People who live in Parkfield have one leg longer than the other!
I invite members of the Council to stroll along the footpaths from the village to Parkfield. Every footpath is sloping towards the road and in places is almost unusable due to overgrown hedges. For pedestrians and parents with buggies, it is very uncomfortable and dangerous to use the paths. The tendency is to be tipped into the road, and with speeding traffic, progress can be quite fraught.
Is there some pressure that can be put onto the highways agencies to remedy this situation?
