March 2005

Pucklechurch Cricket Club

The forthcoming season, commencing 1 May 2005, sees the expansion of the Cricket Club to three senior sides for Saturday and Sunday League Cricket, together with four youth teams at the ages of U17, U15, U13 and U11. At only £10 per season with no match fees, cricket is described by parents as about the cheapest hobby for your children in the village. Why not encourage your son or daughter to come along and have a go?

Training sessions will take place on Sunday mornings between 10.30 and 12.00 noon on the Rec commencing in March. Boys and girls from the age of 8 upward are welcome.

With the increase in senior cricket this season, players of all ages and standards will be welcomed.  Senior indoor nets will commence shortly. If you would like further information, please contact Dean or Vicky Freestone on 937 3227.

Pucklechurch CC operates under the Child Protection “Safe Hands” policy.

Pucklechurch Sports AFC

The Football Club is thriving in the village with over 80 players signed on for the senior sides and over 100 children playing in the youth teams. Special mention goes to the Sports 'A' side run by Simon Harries, who are currently holding top position in the league. Upcoming fixtures are posted on the social club notice board as well as on the website.

We will be holding our annual Golf Day at the Kendleshire Golf Club on Friday, 8th April. This will consist of a round of golf, fun competitions, and a meal at The Star Inn on the evening. Anyone interested should contact Mike Wiltshire on 0774 815 4383.

Our presentation evening dinner dance will be held again at the Bristol Golf Club on Friday, 6th May.
