Public consultation took place at meetings in Pucklechurch on 13/02/07 and in Shortwood on 08/03/07. The meetings provided a framework for attendees to express ideas and issues through a series of consultation exercises aimed at getting more detailed feedback from the community.

The Summer survey of 2007 survey formed an important part of the research in the development of the Community Plan for the parish of Pucklechurch. Anonymity of respondents was preserved by not recording names or addresses and not recording the link between the Individual and Household questionnaires collected from any household. Nevertheless to allow some geographical analysis the 'Rounds' in which questionnaires were delivered and collected were recorded. The Rounds are shown here in Google Earth coloured to allow comparison between them in responses to the selected survey question. A colour key is shown on the right.
TIPS (see below for a graphical version of some of these tips)
To see the results in Google Earth you have three choices.
1. (Preferred) Click on the file in the Download column and open or run
Firefox: Open With [Google Earth (default)]
Internet Explorer(IE):Select “Open”
2. Download the KML file to your disk by clicking and selecting “Save File” then OK (Firefox) or “Save” (IE) 3. Downloading all the KML files as a ZIP file
Once open in Google Earth there are some other tips that will help:
In the sidebar tick items to display - e.g. Under 'Layers' tick 'Roads' to help to identify the area. (If the sidebar is not displayed: tick 'Sidebar' in the View menu.) Drag the view and zoom in until the area of the Round to be inspected is larger than the arrow cursor. Click in the middle of the Round to display a summary of the responses from that Round. If the Round is displayed too small or if you click too close to a neighbouring Round you may be misled by displaying the results for the wrong Round even though the balloon points to where you clicked! Click the 'Overall responses' roundel to see results for the question overall Rounds in the survey. If the outlines of the Rounds are displayed without any fill colour take notice of the message boxes displayed whilst Google Earth is loading: it may be that your graphics card does not support the clamped polygons feature used to display the Rounds coloured. If you find the cursor does not change from a hand to an arrow as you move it over the Rounds you may need to update to a newer version of Google Earth (See Help menu 'Check for updates...'). The position of the colour key text is a little unruly. Click a colour key roundel to confirm what its colour represents. Optimise settings under the Tools menu 'Options...': e.g. Under the 'Navigation' tab adjust the 'Fly-To speed' or untick/tick 'Automatically tilt while zooming'. Under the 'General' tab untick/tick 'Show start up tips'.
The geometric shape of the round represents a boundary that includes all the households in that round. This necessarily means that rounds in outlying areas are geographically large but may include only a few households. This should be remembered when looking at the coloured rounds as the total area of a colour is not representative of the magnitude of total responses to that question only the relative level of response with that round.
On exiting DO NOT save to your 'My Places' folder when prompted as the colours displayed for other questions in subsequent .KML file links to Google Earth will NOT be correct. If previously viewed coloured Rounds have been saved: 'Community Survey Summer 2007' in the sidebar under 'Places' 'My Places'(like other items) may be hidden by unticking it or right click and Delete it there. Parish Boundary: This file shows the boundary of Pucklechurch Civil Parish (CP). It is included for reference. You may save this file to your “My Places” folder for future reference. Please note that some round boundaries will appear outside the Parish boundary due to simplification of the round boundaries. No households out side the boundary were included in the survey.
